A Little PR? Amazon Boards Harmless?

BWB climbed out of bed to day to her UPS alarm clock, then she signed into her blog, and Holy Cow!
I had 140 unique hits from an Amazon Thread! That’s so far. . . they are still rolling in.
Some interesting facts for those of you who think that spoonfeeding info to Noobs on the Seller boards is harmless because “not that many people read these boards” WRONG!
The mention of my blog is on the 4th page of a post 3 days old, yet it still got 140 unique views from that link –how many people do you think actually clicked through, and how many people do you think passed it up? The thread itself has 2020 views-I do not know if these are unique. Right now the thread is buried on the 3rd page of the forum, yet, the hits are still coming in from it.
Also, another 9 views came from people’s e-mail boxes, meaning, people sent people e-mails. This is evidenced by the Yahoo or Hotmail tag.
What was the thread about?
Some Lazy Noob posted to the seller’s soapbox asking how to look up ISBNS with her phone–Amazon has a whole forum called the Third Party forum for this info, and she was too lazy to even search there. And we all know that she could just use Google. Of course the usual suspects showed up to tell her how to do everything, despite others telling her to go to the 3rd party forum to read up on it, and other brave souls that told this noob what is what.
Why do these people want to help their competition so much? I mean, this is someone who just started selling, who right now is at hobby status. I hope that all of you that didn’t even make this chick ( and all the lurkers) go to the forum right there on Amazon to read, have 3 new scouters in your hood this week.
People just love to shoot their big mouth off! Me included, but I’m not going to tell anyone how, where, or when to acquire stock.
How many times do I need to say this? Resources are getting smaller, and the booty is going up in price!
I think the *OP in this thread has turned her whole family ( Mom, Siblings, etc) on to selling a few books here and there on Amazon–well come people–how are we supposed toget great books if people are keeping them and selling them?. You didn’t just tell this NOOB how to use an ISBN look up service, you told her whole army.
